DRS, as a member of a Design/Build Team with Oxford Development Company, was selected by the General Services Administration (GSA) to design the new Social Security Office Building. DRS worked with GSA throughout the interactive process to program and design this facility and coordinate furniture layouts. The three-story, 45,000 SF building houses the Social Security Office of Hearings and Appeals and the District Office. The first floor contains the entry lobby space and parking for 20 vehicles. The upper two floors contain secure reception areas just off the elevator lobby that also house public restrooms. Judges’ offices, a reference library, hearing rooms, ADP rooms, multi-purpose room and video-teleconferencing room also are located on these two upper floors. |
