The Social Security Administration in McKeesport had outgrown their existing space and needed to expand or build new. The adjacent rectangular lot was available and shaped the building which allows north and south exposures, facilitating energy efficient day lighting. Ten foot high windows open the office to the street, welcoming visitors and providing outdoor views for the office space. A barrel-vaulted light-monitor draws attention to the entry. Two tones of brick and accented by limestone banding were selected to complement materials present in nearby structures and provide a maintenance free exterior.
