This 64,500 SF HTML building is used for investigating new materials, which have potential for high-temperature structural applications. The 2-story reinforced architectural concrete, metal and glass building houses laboratories, office, and conference rooms, a library and other support and service areas. An overhead utility grid can be raised or lowered to accommodate special user requirements. The grid forms the ceiling plane and permits ready access to laboratory piping and electrical distribution systems. It also supports the light fixtures, providing flexibility in the arrangement, type of fixture used and concentration of lighting. |
