The A.J Palumbo Center serves both as a venue for the Duquesne University varsity basketball games and other special events and as a training facility for student athletes.
The Palumbo Center has a public entrance from a Pittsburgh city street for events and a student entrance from campus. The exterior was designed to blend with other campus buildings and the surrounding urban environment. It contains a 6,500-seat, two-level basketball arena, locker rooms and support facilities for varsity sports, plus a second level with cardio, weight training and other exercise rooms, concessions and a student lounge.
A recent $2 million renovation upgraded the offices of varsity coaches and expanded the athletics training areas and other support facilities, including a stylish new recruitment center. |
